Just Relax...

Probably the most important aspect away from all the wordly cares back home is relaxation!  The crew of Elan invites you to leave behind all the phone calls, chores and annoyances and be fully present for life on the ocean.  It is healing… so sit back and soak it in.

Snorkeling and Spearfishing

Live aboard cruising is all about being in and one with the ocean. Elan is equipped and ready to take you along whether it be an afternoon of casual snorkeling or getting more serious about providing for the afternoon or evening meal.

Whale Watching

During the winter months whales are plentiful and sightings are common.  Enjoy a nice easy day sail on Elan watching these amazing creatures or, if the timing is right, enjoy them even more up close from the dinghy.

Sailing Instruction

Don’t know how to sail and would like to learn?  No problem. The crew can help you learn the basics and get you well on your way.  Or maybe you already know how to sail and want to refine your skills or simply to see a different perspective of how things are done on Elan.  Either way, the crew will be there to move you along the path and help you become better and more proficient at the craft.  Although not certified instructors, Bret and Marne have experience on both monohulls and multihulls and would love to share what they have learned including the ongoing debate of which is better and what are the differences when choosing one hull or more!

Inland Adventures

Get off the boat and take a hike!  There is always plenty to see and experience on inland adventures.  The crew of Elan know all the hot spots from natural waterfalls to volcanic viewpoints.

Fishing

If you like ocean fishing, there are plenty of opportunities from off the stern of Elan while sailing to reef fishing out of the dinghy.  Either way, the excitement is real when you hook into one of these beauties whether it is catch and release or something that will be prepared later for a meal aboard.  While sailing on Elan the crew typically fish using handlines.  Known and used by some but definitely different from the standard rod and reel method.  Which is better and why?  Come find out!
